Dr. Trobisch was born and raised in Berlin, Germany where he completed his medical education at the Freie Universität Berlin. He immigrated to the United States and completed residency training in Internal Medicine at Pinnacle Health Systems in Harrisburg, PA and at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, CA. Upon completion of his residency training he specialized in the treatment of substance use disorders and achieved board certification with the American Board of Addiction Medicine as the first physician in Bakersfield.
Nathan was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA where he graduated from Highland High School. He excelled in Cross Country and Track while in school, however injuries and illness prevented him from running collegiality. He graduated from Bakersfield College with his Associates of Arts degree.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Medical sciences with a minor in Chemistry. Nathan then went on to MCPHSU in Boston MA where he received his Masters of Physician Assistant studies.
While Attending PA school in Boston, he joined the Military and has been proudly serving his country in the Army National Guard since 2011.
His early career in Medicine started in Neurosurgery where he was able to first assist is several brain and spine surgeries. Later he worked with several spine, orthopedic, and pain management specialists.
Nathan’s time spent in medicine helped him realize losing weight was the key to avoiding many surgeries and ultimately could reverse several life altering diseases. He has a strong passion to help his patients reach their weight loss and cosmetic goals as well as recover from drug- and alcohol addiction.
Marissa Rodriguez has over 9 years’ experience working with adults, adolescents and their families in areas of mental health and chemical dependency. A great deal of her experience came from working in prisons and jails with the incarcerated population. She graduated from National University Fresno in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in addictive disorders. She is working on her graduate program and one day would like to complete her Marriage and Family Therapist license. Marissa is a Central Valley native and grew up in Fresno, California. She is new to the Bakersfield area and still has to use her GPS wherever she goes. In her spare time she enjoys being with family, friends and her dog Bella.
Ariel Turner currently holds the RADT II certification and will be advancing to CADC I late 2017. Upon completion of her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, she will be entering the Addiction Studies Master’s program January 2018. It’s rare that you wouldn’t find Ariel in pursuit of helping the addict or alcoholic that still struggles, but if you did, she’d likely be cruising by on her motorcycle or singing Trolls songs with her daughter and husband.
Eric is the newest member of our Counseling Team here at Synergy Recovery Services. Eric comes to us from Sonora, California, where he was a Counselor at both a Residential Treatment Facility and in the prison system at the Department of Corrections’ Substance Abuse Treatment Program. “It’s a real privilege sharing my personal experience in overcoming addiction with others and seeing them transformed as they learn to live clean, sober, productive lives.”
Eric earned his degree from Stanford University, where he was a starting member of their #1 nationally ranked tennis team – he even played the pro tour for a while and competed in the US Open!
